I saw Jurassic last night and as much as I really like Gareth Edwards and I'm always up for spectacular visuals on the big screen I was left a bit disappointed by it. I just felt that the family and the scientists where on two different adventures which were a bit disconnected. Maybe I'm being too presumptuous but there were a lot of people in the cinema who were being quite fidgety so I got the impression it is still selling tickets but the finished product is just not much to write home about.
As for trailer club... where did Sentimental Value come from? I was unaware of it until today. Count me in. I think that looks really promising.
I felt the same about the two threads - made the story seem very choppy to me. I'd rather the filmmakers had picked one lane and stuck to it! I like Edwards a lot too but felt this was a step backwards after The Creator.
Sentimental Value actually premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this year. I know Mubi have it for the UK, so hopefully it'll be out later this year, probably around 'awards season' I guess. I adored The Worst Person in the World so can't wait for this
Just watched heads of state good popcorn movie
The Running Man trailer looks epic let’s hope the film lives up to the trailer.
